The Setup
Tongits is a three-player game using a standard 52-card deck. The dealer receives 13 cards; the other two players receive 12 each. The remaining cards form the central stock pile, with the top card exposed to start the discard pile. Play proceeds clockwise.
A Turn on PHCash44
Each turn, you draw the top card from either the stock pile or the discard pile. You may then lay down a meld from your hand, add cards to existing melds already on the table (called "burning" cards), and finally discard one card to end your turn. You cannot skip drawing a card.

When the stock pile runs out, a draw is declared. All surviving players compare their unmelded points — lowest wins.
F
Fight (Sagot)
Any player can call a fight to challenge a knock. If a challenger beats or ties the knocker, the knock fails.
Set (Trio / Cuadruplet)
Three or four cards of the same rank, regardless of suit. For example: three Jacks (♥ ♦ ♠) or four Kings. You must lay a set on the table face-up before the round ends — it removes those cards from your hand count.
Sequence (Straight Flush)
Three or more consecutive cards of the same suit. For example: 5-6-7 of hearts, or 8-9-10-J of spades. The more cards in your sequence, the better — longer sequences free up more hand space.
Burning Cards (Sagot sa Meld)
You can add individual cards to existing melds already face-up on the table — yours or any opponent's. This is called burning a card. It's one of the most important skills in Tongits because it gets rid of high-value cards from your hand without needing to form a new meld from scratch.

Minimum Meld Size
On PHCash44, melds must contain at least three cards to be placed on the table. Two-card partial melds stay in your hand until you draw the third card needed to complete them.
Card point values determine who wins when a knock or draw ends the round. Lower unmelded point total wins on PHCash44.

Tong-its Win
Empty hand — collect the full pot plus a bonus multiplier from both opponents on PHCash44.
Knock Win
Lowest unmelded points after a successful knock — collect the pot on PHCash44. Failed knock reverses payment to the challenger.
Draw Settlement
Stock pile exhausted — player with lowest point total wins the draw. Ties split the pot on PHCash44.
How a Round Ends on PHCash44
There are three ways a Tongits round can end, and understanding each is crucial to knowing when to be aggressive and when to play defensively.
Tong-its Declaration
The best possible outcome. If you draw from the pile and your last card completes a meld, leaving you with an empty hand, declare Tong-its immediately. You win the full pot and both opponents pay a Tong-its penalty on PHCash44.
Knock (Salpok)
Any player may knock on their turn after discarding, challenging all surviving players to a point comparison. The knocker must be confident their hand total is the lowest. If challenged and beaten, they pay each fighter — so knockers beware.
Stock Pile Exhausted
When the central pile runs out of cards, a draw is automatically declared on PHCash44. All players reveal their unmelded cards and the lowest total wins. This can happen quickly at aggressive tables with heavy burning activity.
Payout Logic on PHCash44
PHCash44 calculates round payouts transparently. Here's how pot distribution works in each scenario.
Tong-its Payout
Winner collects the pot. Both opponents pay a separate Tong-its bonus (typically 2× the current ante) directly to the winner. Shown in full detail on PHCash44's post-round summary.
Successful Knock
Knocker collects the pot if their hand total is lowest. Any player who chose to fight and lost pays the knocker an additional penalty equal to one ante on PHCash44.
Failed Knock
If any fighter has a lower or equal hand total, the knock fails. The knocker pays each successful fighter their bet amount. The fighting player with the lowest total wins the pot on PHCash44.
Draw Settlement
Player with lowest unmelded point total wins the pot. On PHCash44, the full payout breakdown is shown immediately after each draw settlement so you always know exactly how much you won or lost.
